Here is my vision:
Upon entering the classroom my kids automatically log on and skim through the wiki topic we began last week. They do this as a warm-up to the classroom conversation. As the lesson continues the students take new e-notes extending the topic. They get into groups continuing the discussion while one of the members adds the highlights of the conversation to the wiki. After leaving the room each student is responsible for a personal reflection of learning posted to their blog. I, as the teacher, use a NING network to aggregate all of the wikis, blogs, students, and relevant content for the class. Near the end of the year the students review their content, reflect, and design a multimedia presentation showing their understanding of all or one of the topics. ____ As of now there would be several roadblocks in the way including prior knowledge of these tools, but that is for another discussion. |
